Cork Blogger Meetup

On Saturday I went to a blogger meetup in Cork organised by the two lovelies, Sarah from http://atthebeautydesk.blogspot.ie/ and Fiona from http://www.dollydowsie.com/. It was my first blogger event! Eventes aren't so readily available when you live in the middle of no-where, nearly 5 hours from Dublin. It was great fun meeting all the bloggers (and vloggers).

There was three main stages to the day. It started at Lush on Oliver Plunkett Street. The window was done up with hashtags just for us!

What I wore:
Jumper ~ Missguided
Dress ~ New Look
Socks & Tights ~ Penneys/Primark
Boots ~ New Look
Necklace ~ Teanga na mBláth

In Lush we were split into groups of four and we were rotating around 5 counters with demos of different products at each station.

The first station focused around body and haircare. We looked at a few body products first including Buffy, King of Skin and Stepping Stone. We also had a go using the Sea Spray and looked at the Shampoo bars.

Our next counter was sun-care. We were given a run through of different sun care products that Lush has to offer. I have super pale skin and go bright red when exposed to the tiniest bit of sunlight so I definitely want to try the Lush range, especially because they use natural ingredients.

Next we moved on to skincare, specifically facial skin care. We were shown a few Lush cleansers and got to try them out as well as some of the fresh face masks.
Then we went to the makeup stand and got to test the many items. I loved the liquid liners and lipsticks and when we were told we were allowed to take an item home I got very excited. I went for an eyeliner in Control which is a gorgeous inky blue colour.

At the last station we made our own bath bombs! I adore Lush bath bombs so it was so much fun to make my own one. We were then all brought together and given a demonstration on how The Comforter bubble bar is made.

Debenhams was next. First we were given a Clarins gift bag as well as cupcakes and drinks and then had some talks, one about Clarins which was really interesting and another about winning that huge hamper. The task was to take pictures of specific products at the different makeup counters we were visiting around Debenhams and upload them to Twitter with #Beautifix and #CorkMeetup. We went to some counters and had 15 minutes at each counter and were told all about certain new products in their range. Before we left we were given a huge Debenhams goodie bag and a €50 voucher to spend in store!

We then went to Costigans on Washington Street. First we had a skincare demo by Shiseido. I love hearing all about the science behind products as well as what it does. It was really interesting and we were given a jam-packed goodie bag.

Next we had a makeup demo by Gosh. I've only used a couple products by Gosh before, I didn't really know much about the brand. The products look really nice and I definitely want to try some more in the future.

Lastly we had a showcase of MeMeMe products upstairs. MeMeMe is another brand I knew very little about. The range of products are gorgeous and I can't wait to try some out. I love the looks of the Godess Rocks and the Lip Creams.

I had such a great day and thanks so much to Lush, Debenhams, Shiseido, Gosh, MeMeMe and of course Sarah and Fiona for organising the event!

I will have another post coming soon featuring the huge amount of goodies I got throughout the day. Also sorry I don't have that many pictures, my camera is still in the process of being repaired/replaced so I'm using my iPad and the picture quality isn't great and it's awkward to keep taking out. Thanks so much for reading!

M.A.C Chatterbox - My first MAC Lipstick

On my way to Spain, I decided to go ahead and make my first ever M.A.C purchase in duty-free! I went for the obvious choice of a lipstick. I recently started wearing more bright colours as it's summer and I wanted an amplified one. I did about 20 swatches and my hand and arm looked like a 5 year old got carried away and in the end was stuck between Girl About Town and Chatterbox. I went for Chatterbox in the end as it was the more subtly option.

It's such a gorgeous colour! I've worn it a few times (I know I should have taken pictures before I used it but I didn't have a camera and I couldn't resist) and I'm already addicted and want to buy more MAC lipsticks but I'm trying to save money at the moment.

Also who could resist the packaging, which looks so nice even though the top is a little inconvenient when it comes to storage.

My camera is being replaced at the moment so I'm using my iPad to take these photos. I wanted to take a picture of the lipstick on as well but the iPad wouldn't focus so I couldn't. Thanks for reading!

Spain day four & OOTD

On our fourth afternoon we went clothes shopping. I really wanted to check out different shops there compared to Ireland and some summer sales. I didn't get that much but an overall Spain haul will be coming shortly. On the way we came across this beautiful pavilion covered in climbing roses. A perfect place for outfit photos.

Top ~ Topshop
Shorts ~ Penneys/Primark
Flipflops ~ Penneys/Primark
Bag ~ Colors of Life
Necklace and bracelets ~ Primark/Penneys
Sunglasses ~ Penneys/Primark

In the evening when it cooled down enough to go out we hiked up to the highest point in Cuenca. The views were amazing! I would have taken more photos but the camera battery ran out just as we reached the top.

OOTD: Spain day one

Last Tuesday I went to Cuenca, in Spain with a few of my friends to visit another friend. I was hoping to have blog posts up while I was away but unfortunately my precious camera decided to break the day before I went to Spain, I had a bit of a breakdown. Luckily I was able to use my friend's camera over the week so I took quite a few pictures. And to make up for the lack of blog posts I will post a few extra over the next week but until I get my camera sorted I won't be able to do a Spain Haul for the moment.

We arrived late on Tuesday night and my outfit wasn't anything special so these photo's were from Wednesday which was our first proper day in Spain. In the morning we just walked around the city a bit. It was cloudy at first so I had my jumper on but it got warmer later on.

In the afternoon we went on a river walk and up to the old part of Cuenca which was beautiful!

Jumper - New Look
Skirt - (It's actually a dress I was wearing as a skirt) Penneys/Primark
Shoes - Penneys/Primark
Top - Topshop
Bag - Colors of Life

Thanks for reading! Another post in the next days and them I'll go back to my usual schedule.

What's in my holiday makeup bag?

When this post is scheduled I will be on a plane to Spain. I've been busy packing and I thought I would do a "What's in my makeup bag" holiday edition post. I'm never one for travelling light but only bringing this much is still an achievement for me. I know I'm probably not going to wear half of it. Here's what I brought:

1. Naked Basics Palette - it's a travel essential.
2. NV Chunky Lip Crayon in "Kinky Pink" for a bright lip.
3. Collection Lasting perfection concealer - it's my go-to concealer.
4. Sleek Blush in "Coral" - best summer blush.
5. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder for those days where makeup is dripping off your face.
6. Benefit Coralista lip gloss - it's small and great for the summer
7.Maybelline Babylips in "Peach Kiss" - I just love these and Peach Kiss is a lovely nude.
8. Natural Collection Blush in "Pink Cloud" - I don't really need 2 blushes but this one is pink and I don't know how to travel light.
9. Elf Lipgloss in "Candlelight" - This has got SPF 15 which is always handy with sun.
10. Soap and Glory Supercat eyeliner - I'm addicted to cat flicks at the moment.
11. Maybelline Colossal Volume Mascara - I was very good and only brought one mascara.
12. Rimmel Pencil Liner - Pretty basic eyeliner.
13. Benefit Porefessional - I'm just sampling it at the moment, I love what it does to your skin.
14. L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick in "Scarlett Creme" - I only tend to wear red when going out but you never know.
15. Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in "On and On Bronze" - This is quick and easy, great for travelling.
16. Gosh Lipstick in Exotic - This is a bright orange and is great for summer.

Written out like that makes it seem like I brought a lot more than I did. I'm still going to be posting while I am away, with outfits and other holiday posts.
