Spontaneous trip to Belfast and mini haul

I do have some explaining to do. I made a schedule and failed to stick to it but I actually have an accuse. This is going to be more of a life post than a haul.

Last Thursday I decided to go to Belfast on Saturday for an audition for a film which I found on twitter. Acting is something I would love to do so I gave it a go and went to it. I have never done anything like this before and it wasn't as nerve racking as I thought.

Anyway Belfast is a very long way for me to travel. It's nearly like travelling the length of Ireland which is quite far to go for a 20 minute audition. I also spent some time with family in Dublin while I was there. In the end I went in 5 trains, 4 buses, 2 Luas', 2 different currencies and stayed in 3 different family member's houses over 4 days. It was a busy weekend.

I spent most of my time reading and listening to AM by the Arctic Monkeys over and over again. I was also planning on watching a film or two on my laptop but I couldn't which leads me to the reason why I couldn't post on Sunday and Tuesday. Last week I was having trouble with my USB ports on my laptop and couldn't upload photos, just as I fixed that problem, my charger went broke and my laptop went dead. I ordered a new one and it arrived today so I can finally post! It has also made me realise how laptop-dependent I am, which is kind of sad.

On to the haul!

I had some time to kill in Belfast so I nipped into Topshop and Superdrug.

I picked up this little white crop top in Topshop. It was £8 which isn't bad for Topshop as I've seen tops like this going for like €30. It's summer and I need to wear less black and less layers.

I got one of Topshop's nail polish in Little White Lie. It's basically a sheer white with tiny white sprinkles, it's not glitter, it looks almost like snow but it makes any nail polish look pastel and summery which I love.

There was 3 for 2 in Superdrug on all makeup so I got this Rimmel Pencil Liner because I'm looking for one that doesn't smudge everywhere, I'm yet to try it out.

There was 3 for 2 in Superdrug on all makeup so I got two Maybelline Babylips, in Mint Fresh and Cherry Me. I've never tried Mint Fresh before and I lost my old Cherry Me and Baby lips are so nice.

Back in Dublin I picked up a mini Benefit the Porefessional with June's Elle Magazine because I've never tried it and everyone is talking about it.

I hope you enjoyed that very long post and thanks for reading!

An outfit fit for Spring

I found this purple skirt in the back of my wardrobe, I've had it for years and never really worn it and I have no idea where it is from but I styled it with my black boots and I just love it! It has a bit of a 1950's element to it and I adore 50's fashion.

 Jumper ~ New Look
 Bracelets ~ Primark

The skirt is bright and is quite different to a lot of my current outfits which seem to be monochrome. I have also not worn tights a few times this year, it's finally warm enough!

Belt ~ Penneys/Primark
Cream top underneath ~ Penneys/Primark
Lipstick ~ L'Oréal Colour Riche lipstick in 461 Scarlett Creme
Earrings ~ Penneys/Primark

My friend Rachel took these pictures for me, her blog is Dukechell.

 Skirt ~ [I don't know]
Shoes ~ New Look
Socks ~ Penneys/Primark

And again my favourite shoes from New Look, which I keep mentioning, I can't help it I love them too much! My legs look incredibly pale as if I am wearing white tights in this picture. My pale Irish skin. I think the light is exaggerating it though.

Thanks for reading! I didn't quite keep to my schedule this week, not posting on Tuesday but I was really busy with work experience.

Strange fashion inspirations

I watch a lot of television series' and films. If I were to list them all we would be here forever. I can sometimes get a bit obsessed. My favourite series' include Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones, Call the Midwife, Merlin and Doctor Who. I also adore the Harry Potter books and films, Lord of the Rings and Studio Ghibli and Disney films. I get inspiration from all of these. I have a Spirited Away t-shirt and I'm always attempting to recreate Frozen hairstyles.

I desperately want to wear long dresses from different medieval fantasy eras (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, Merlin) as well as 50's circle skirts (Call the Midwife) and 20's dresses (Downton Abbey). I would love a Sherlock trench coat or a Hogwarts school uniform. Unfortunately I own none of these things.

I have this plan to sew a 50's dress and I found a lovely trench coat in Topshop but unfortunately funds and time have prevented me from fulfilling these wishes.

I would love long dresses to come back into fashion and not just beach maxi skirts as well as long cloaks. Unfortunately none of these things are very practical and it probably wouldn't work out but I can keep on dreaming.

I also have a lot of drawings and doodled inspired my films and series' but I am going to leave them for another post.

I hope you enjoyed this different kind of post, it turned into a bit of a ramble. My plan was to post some photographs of clothes I have, inspired by the things I mentioned but my laptop is having issues uploading photos from my camera so maybe I will add them another time.

Thanks for reading

OOTD: Freedom of Summer

I feel like all I do on here is talk about Summer. I'm doing it again sorry.
I have finally finished Transition Year and it's my summer holidays! I do have two weeks of work experience but it's not really school so it doesn't count.
I now have a lot of freedom and that it probably the best thing about summer, along with the slightly warmer weather. Hopefully I will also have more time to post and have now decided to post every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday (This may vary a little).

Shorts ~ New Look
Leggings ~ Primark/Penneys
Jumper ~ New Look

It's still not warm enough to go bare-legs, so leggings or tights as usual. Like most of my posts this outfit is predominantly Primark and New Look.

 Sunglasses ~ Primark/Penneys
Hat ~ Primark/Penneys
Shirt ~ Primark/Penneys

 Shoes ~ New Look
Socks ~ Primark/Penneys

Thanks so much to the lovely Rachel for taking the photos.

And thanks for reading!

Simple and Natural Makeup

I find that minimal makeup works best for me. I don't wear a lot of makeup everyday anyway but I normally wear eyeliner and feel bare without it. Anyway today I thought I would do a no-makeup makeup look.

Makeup used:
~ Collection Lasting perfection concealer - I use this everyday, it's one piece in my makeup bag that I never change.
~ Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in "On and on Bronze" - I used this as an eyeshadow base.
~ Urban Decay Naked Basics - I used "Walk of Shame" as a highlight on my eyes and "Naked 2" for my eyebrows.
~ Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara - I love the volume this gives although I would normally wear this out instead of day-to-day.
~ Sleek blush in "Coral" - I just love the shade of this and Sleek blushes are amazing!
~ Maybelline Baby Lips in "Peach Kiss" - I find Baby Lips really moisturising and they are great for just throwing on in a hurry, and Peach Kiss smells so nice!

^The bin in the background is a lovely sight

OOTD: Casual & Sophisticated

I love wearing sophisticated outfits. I am still in school and don't have a job so I don't wear sophisticated clothes everyday so it's a nice change when I do.

This outfit isn't the traditional smart, sophisticated look. It's more summery with the daisy print and accessories.

White jumper ~ New Look
Cardigan ~ H&M
Daisy Skort ~ Primark/Penneys
Necklace ~ Teanga na mBláth

Bag ~ [Christmas present - Not sure where it's from]
Bracelet ~ [Again it was a present ~ Not sure where it's from]
Ring ~ Primark

 Shoes ~ Primark/Penneys
Leggings ~ Nutshell

Thank you to Rachel for being my photographer for my outfit.

Thanks for reading!

E.L.F Haul

Through twitter I came across Beauty Crowd. I started watching their YouTube livestreams and I love them. They teach you so much about beauty and blogging, especially about blog photography which is very handy when you are a newbie. I got involved in their twitter question competition and won an E.L.F nail polish set of my choice.

I chose the 14-piece cube set in "Colour Brights" as it is nearing summer and the colour selection is amazing.

I don't own a lot of nail polishes but now my collection has grown quite a bit.

In parcel there were also two extra E.L.F items, a lipgloss and an eye-shadow.

This is their Super Glossy Lip Shine with SPF 15 in Candlelight. I have super pale skin and get sunburned really. SPF lipgloss is really good in the summer because your lips can get sunburned as well.

This E.L.F's Mineral Eyeshadow in "Wild". It's really pretty and I can't wait to try it out.

Thanks so much again to Beauty Crowd!
